Meridian will present an exhibition of over one hundred reproductions of photographs and documents culled from private and public archives around the United States and Afghanistan. Created for the U.S. Department of State and the Embassy of the United States in Kabul, the exhibit chronicles the relationship between our two countries beginning with initial contacts in the early 20th century and continuing through the late 1970s.
As part of its ongoing work to support the COP15 process Meridian International Center and partnered with Deutsche Bank and the UN Foundations Global Leadership for Climate Action Initiative to convene an October 15 roundtable meeting Energy & Environment: International Cooperation on COP-15 Implementation.
In September 2007, in cooperation with the French embassy, Meridian presented an in-depth review of our early shared history in a symposium on Lafayette's role in the survival of the American Revolution. We continued our cooperation with the French embassy with the recent symposium, in which we discussed more contemporary events, and we looked at the potential for greater cooperation.
