Coyote Prayer Maysey1 - 179 views - 1 week ago
I found this beautiful coyote at a flea market in Yucca Valley, California on 7-4-2009. It's life was cut short merely for its coat and a little profit. I felt the need to send him off to the spirit world in a much kinder way than how he met his fate. Wishing everyone much peace and happiness and thank you for stopping by. Mark

Coyote Prayer
words by Mark Maysey
music by Ahanu

he wondered through the desert
and the yucca valley hills
his only suit of armor
was his undisputed will
born into a kingdom
even man dont understand
only seeking meager needs
that once flourished on these lands
little did he know
about his plight or simple fate
how his coat would bring small fortunes
to those who have no faith
a dollar for the day
a bottle for the night
great spirit save us all
if theres any hope in sight

I clutched him from a market
where junk was bought and sold
where the windmills always spin
and the rich and famous go
did he spend his time in gardens
did he spend his time on stone
I guess it doesnt matter
Im sure he was alone
but, maybe there were others
a pheasant, fox or bear
a beautiful wild cat
at the bottom of some stairs
a rug by the fireplace
a trophy by the stove
one day theyll know the death
of the life they often stole

Gardens of Stone Maysey1 - 213 views - 1 week ago
Gardens of Stone
by Mark Anthony Maysey

as I was walking through the park one day
on the corner of ninth and E
I met this old man sitting peacefully
beneath a shady tree
his shoes were nicely polished
and his clothes were nicely pressed
he wore medals on his jacket
and had a bible in his vest
I was feeling sad and lonesome
a bit tired from the day
so I just kind of sat there
with nothing much to say
then he introduced himself to me
and gently shook my hand
he said my name is Joe
Im just an ordinary man
he asked if I often came here
and I replied with now and then
he said hes been here a time to two
but couldnt quite remember when
well the day was very lovely
and I had nothing more to do
so I shared in conversation
with this man I hardly knew
we talked for what seemed hours
and the day was moving fast
then a calmness overtook us
as he started talking about his past
he started talking about some war
and friends he left behind
I held back tears and listened
as he opened up his mind
and he said

some of them had dreams of fortune
and some had dreams of fame
some dreamed of a world
where there wasnt any pain
some of them left as men
most of them left as kids
some believed in God
and some they never did
now they all have something in common
even the unknown
as they lie there together
in the Garden of Stone

as he finished speaking
I held my head and cried
and I thought about my father
who proudly fought and died
he said son Im very sorry
I never meant to make you cry
and Id understand quite well
if you up and just said goodbye
he said theres often happy endings
and this story has one too
for I know the one that you miss dear
is also missing you
I sat a moment in silence
as a smile crossed my face
I quickly turned to thank him
but he was gone without a trace
and I heard his voice again say

some of us had dreams of fortune
and some of us had dreams of fame
some of us dreamed of a world
where there wasnt any pain
some of us left as men
most of us left as kids
some of us believed in God
and some of us never did
but now we all have one thing in common
even the unknown
as we all lie here together
in these Gardens of Stone

Cebuana is a True Filipina - Filipina Beauty cebubutte... - 302 views - 6 days ago
A true Asian beauty is simply a Filipina Beauty. Cebuana is a true Filipina....(Find out more about Filipina).
In the ancient tradition, women are treasure. Women are being respected and they are treated as Goddesses. Their rights are very sensitive to everyone that they are afraid of being acquainted with them without their parents consent or anyone in the family. Once women have been touched by a man even without too much intimacy could lead them to early marriage.
. Now, as what we can all observed women are being disrespected by anyone. There are a lot of different cases and issues about violating the women rights today. Although they know that it is occurring, they are spoiling the issue due to lack of knowledge about their rights and sometimes thinking that it will lead to nothing especially for the women who has a lot of children that cant make an enough living for her family. Rape and battered wives cases are always number one in the list and Prostitutions cases of women including teenagers and even the younger ones. There are a lot of questions why this is happening and how this things are being occurred. Is the government has any responsibilities about this things? Why are they not doing anything to solve or lessen it? Or let say they are doing actions but its just that the victims itself are not cooperating with the authority due to the case that this is the only way for them to eat 3 times a day and save their selves and family from hunger.
With these facts, women today are becoming more competitive than before. Women are becoming to act like strong even if they are not to save their selves from this world. Now women are ready to face all the odds the world will give them. They are ready to face the dangerous world that is out of their responsibility according to their rights. Women minds are being broad to the point that they even accept the consequences that their partners could not give them like going out of the country for future sakes. And after a few months if unlucky, shocking front page will almost slap your face, if not dead, they are sentenced to death or even deported back to the Philippines without nothing but a unforgettable past and experience she had. But as the cases about women rights violations are getting rampant everyday, women are becoming stronger figting for the rights that everyone had already forgotten because today, only few numbers of people even recognizes and respect the women rights.

Sometimes it's a Blessing Maysey1 - 237 views - 1 month ago
Please wonder around in my lyrics and music a bit, and don't focus too much on my amateurish abilities at making a good video, I didn't know what else to do and really wanted to share, maybe my good friend Eric will have some good ideas.

This is something I've been working on over that last few days and I haven't been able to put it away. Tried some different tracks and tonight it was really feeling good, so I just kinda played along with myself and what I had and thought it might be worth sharing. Thanks for listening and sharing your lovely comments, they really do mean a lot to me, as often YT is where I spend most of my time. Wishing everyone a whole lot of peace and love in your journey and sincerely look forward to hearing from you. Your friend,...Mark

Sometimes it's a Blessing
words and music by Mark Maysey

some we may win
and some we may loose
you know the lines
they've often been used
movin' along in perpetual motion
sellin' our wares and magical potions
then we'll find a place where we can hide
away from it all, away from it all
a place where we don't hurt
a place where we don't cry
except in the darkness
where they can't see our eyes
sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse
that's right

someone is happy
and someone is sad
someone is calm
and someone is mad
someone is lyin' and someone is dyin'
join the resistance and offer your tidin's
then well find a place where we can hide
away from it all, away from it all
a place where we don't hurt
a place where we don't cry
except in the darkness
where they can't see our eyes
sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse
that's right

let it be written
let it be said
what good is the wine
If you don't share the bread
wise words are spoken but seldom they're shared
what good is hope without a prayer
then well find a place where we can hide
away from it all, away from it all
a place where we don't hurt
a place where we don't cry
except in the darkness
where they can't see our eyes
sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse
that's right

some you may win
and some you may loose
you know the lines
they've often been used
moving along in perpetual motion
sellin' our wares and magical potions
then we'll find a place where we can hide
away from it all, away from it all
a place where we don't hurt
a place where we don't cry
except in the darkness
where they can't see our eyes
sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse
that's right

sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse

sometimes it's a blessing
sometimes it's a curse

Just Another Day in Our Life
By Mark Maysey

Betty's draggin' bags down the street
Bob swears he's given up the snuff
The Burton's had another fight
But maintain they're still in love
And who am I to cast some doubt to it all
Just another day in our life

They're shuttin down more factories and stores
Seems like everybody's locking doors
If they don't get their money
Then you cant do your laundry
In the privacy and shelter of your home
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life

Hatred and deceit is in the air
Sometimes it seems like it aint got a prayer
Its just a word we use
To accentuate the gloom
And the offerings to the ignorant and the blind
Just another day in our life

A little wine and weed to kill the pain
Another night of words that fail to rhyme
Old demons seldom are recluse
They haunt my soul and disrupt all my dreams
Just another day in our life

(solo)
Just another day in our life

Another child dies in the street
Laying in the gutter beneath a sheet
The mother 's not around
The father has left town
But it's not what they want us to believe
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life

Seldom words are spoken anymore
Everyone is texting on their phones
When Walmart has a sale
Everyone is there
But we don't have no time to spare
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life

Often think about ones I've lost
The end can come quite quickly at a cost
What's left is granite markers
And flowers in a cup
But who am I to say it's time to quit
...that's right
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life
Just another day in our life

Peace!

Thanks for watching the latest version of one of my favorites I've written over the years. Wishing everyone a very peaceful and pleasant weekend, love.....Mark and Noy

The Poet
Words and Music by Mark Maysey

(verse)
Down on the corner of Highland and Odin
Not far from the Hollywood Bowl
I Met a man with a sign that poetically rhymed
And he wasn't but forty years old
He said you may not know it, but I am a poet
And for a token I'll write you a rhyme
He said my pockets are bare
So please show you care
And soon he wrote me these lines

(chorus)
Down on Odin street
Everyone's lonely I meet
Though we're birds of poor feathers
We all flock together, down on Odin street
There's outcast preachers and out of work teachers
And building with old weathered doors
Someone's Grandmother
Some guy that calls me brother
And Veterans of foreign wars.

(verse)
He said I once had a good life
Had myself a good wife
Limos and first class I'd fly
Now it's cardboard condos
and old cars with bondo
And strangers that quickly walk by

(harmonica solo)

(verse)
Well I thanked him for his rhymes
With nickels and dimes
He was grateful and he bowed his head
And with nothing more to say
He slowly turned away
And he walked to another and said...

(verse)
Mr. You may not know it
but I am a poet
And for a token I'll write you a rhyme
He said my pockets are bare
So please show you care
And soon he wrote him these lines...

(repeat chorus)

One Tin Soldier - Cover by Mark Maysey Maysey1 - 4,887 views - 7 months ago
A wonderful friend of mine named Eric (no2hate) asked me if I'd cover this song. I was honored to share this beautiful song written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter. The song has a wonderful history in both the music and movie industry and I encourage all to read a little bit about it using my links provided. The movies are pretty cool as well, definitely a piece of the Americana landscape. Thanks for listening and please, follow the lyrics,...it will take you on a short journey. Thanks Eric for you wonderful support, both in video's and your always kind and thoughtful words. Your true brother in arms for PEACE and friend,....Mark

Lyrics

One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)
by Lambert-Potter, sung by Coven

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

City of New Orleans Maysey1 - 269 views - 1 month ago
City of New Orleans is a folk song written by Steve Goodman, which describes a train ride from Chicago to New Orleans in bittersweet and nostalgic terms. Goodman got the idea while traveling on the eponymous train on a visit to his wife's family's house. He performed the song for Arlo Guthrie in the Quiet Knight, a bar in Chicago, and Guthrie agreed to add it to his repertoire. The song proved a hit for Guthrie in 1972 on his album Hobo's Lullaby, and is now more closely associated with him, although Goodman continued to perform it until his death in 1984. The song has also been covered by Willie Nelson, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, The Seldom Scene, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, David Hasselhoff, Back Porch Mary, and others. I almost died
words by Greg Salvage
music by Mark and Noy Maysey

(verse)
the farther away I find myself
the harder it seems gettin' by
the more I think about the distance
the more I hurt inside

chorus:
cause I had to have you
cause I wanted to hold you
cause I needed to love you
I almost died

(verse)
I wish I could be next to you
I wish I could be there
the more and more I travel
the worse and worse I fare

(verse)
any day in the past
I'd gladly spend with you
cause all those memories that we made
are anything but few

(verse)
remember those times we laughed and laughed
remember those times we cried
remember that first place that we met
when I almost died

(repeat chorus)

(verse)
the joy I feel inside myself
when I am next to you
is nothing compared to the joy I'll find
when I am back with you

(verse)
I promise I'll make it quick
I'll make it worth your while
anything that I have lost
I'll gladly reconcile

(verse)
don't forget the day we met
when you captured my eye
cause in that short little moment
you know I almost died

(repeat chorus - - x2)

Lily Chantilly
words and music by Mark Maysey

Chord Progression : I vi ii V
(Fmaj7 / Dmin7 / Gmin7 / C7)

(verse)
Lily Chantilly
lived in France
she had a small garden
and beautiful plants
her eyes were so pretty
her smile so sweet
was always prim and proper
tidy and neat
sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily

(verse)
one day I paid a visit
To sweet Lillys house
She answered her door
In a red sexy blouse
She offered me wine
as I took my seat
she kicked off her shoes
and kicked up her feet
sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily

(verse)
well Lilly got tipsy
and slipped off her skirt
she said its quite hot
and unbuttoned my shirt
she lit up some candles
and turned off the lights
placed her lips on mine
and held me so tight
sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily

(verse)
well morning came quickly
and I quickly rose
my ship was sailing
and I had to go
she gave me a kiss
as I walked out the door
somehow I knew
Id see Lilly no more
sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily

(verse)
well I have me a garden
I tend of my own
a white picket fence
surrounds my home
when flowers are blooming
and springs in the air
I think of Chantilly
and her beautiful hair
sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily
ooh, ooh, ooh, sweet Lily

About Me: Hello my name is Mark. Thanks for visiting my channel and watching some of my video's - I've added a PLAYLIST of my favorite 20 original video's, just hit the PLAY ALL button and sit back and enjoy for a little while, if you got a little time.

I live with my wonderful wife Noy in southern, California. We've been good friends now for 27 years. We both are semi-retired from the 9 to 5 world and supplement our modest retirement incomes with our antique business. We both love flea markets, hunting down new treasures and making new friends. Noy loves gardening and of course cooking. She cooks great meals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for our friends. She's almost daily helping others in need, either by feeding them, giving them clothes, a ride to the market, a little money, or just a few kind words. I've been so very fortunate and blessed to have her as my lifetime friend and companion. She has the biggest and kindest giving heart I've ever known, she's my inspiration for finding a much more peaceful way in life. And, I thank her for always encouraging me to play and share my music, which as you can see from my channel I dearly love. I also give much thanks to wonderful lady named Manuela (Nellie) who raised me from a child, she also encouraged me to play music. She bought me my first guitar when I was 5 years old and told me play some music Marcos, play some music - rest in peace Nellie, i miss you and love you. So, here I am sharing my music, instrumental and lyrical, and my only aspiration is to provide something a little different to your daily life and make some new friends. I want to share a very sincere and humble thank you to all my friends and subscribers, I always look forward to hearing your kind and thoughtful words.

Your friends, Mark and Noy

All through life one has to fight for a choice;yet we are controlled so much;to the extent that we are given no choice. We are just expected to accept. The practical might say:That's life. You just adjust and turn the page.To that I say Why! Why should one adjust to what is wrong. The one thing they cannot crush is the spirit and the friendship. That they cannot do.Tuks.

Hi Mark and Noy,
Thanks for stopping by. Remember that Movie "Beethoven's 2nd" staring Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt and a bunch of St. Bernards. The theme song was "The Day I Fall In Love" and the first line (lyrics) starts off "Just an ordinary day, started out the same old way" etc.
