Jerry´s breakdown MarQTwang - 152 views - 1 week ago
This is my version of this great song. I´m not sure if Chet Atkins or Jerry Reed wrote it, but it´s a really fun song to play! This is recorded in my living room in my favourite amp; the Fender Deluxe Reverb. But I could not let the amp work as hard as it wants to, because of the neighbour who does not like twang... Other stuff I used recording this was: Keeley Compressor, Xotic RC Booster and T-Rex Replica Delay pedal. See ya!

Hot Wired - Brent Mason cover by MarQTwang MarQTwang - 2,745 views - 5 months ago
Guitargenious Brent Mason wrote this great tune back in the 90´s and put it on one of his great solo album "Hot Wired". And when recording it today I realised that the song was way to fast for my webcam... I guess I´ll need a real cam when playin this kind of stuff. The drums are Apple loops, but the other instruments are played by me, including the Lap Steel on the backingtrack! I got it a few weeks ago, and its a damn fun instrument to play. Almost as fun as playin´ tele! My setup for the guitar is:
Vintage Hot Rod 52 telecaster, Keeley Compressor, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive (for a clean boost), and a T-Rex Replica delay-pedal plugged into a Fender blues junior. (I also used a SM57 microphone) Unfortunately at a low volume because of my way to sensitive neighbours... Well! This tune was really tricky, but I guess hard work has never been this fun before! See ya, and thanks for watching. //MarQTwang

Cocaine Blues - Country Guitar Solo MarQTwang - 2,105 views - 8 months ago
Here is a short guitar solo over the great Johnny Cash song. Maybe one of the greatest songs in the world? That´s why I think it needs a twang guitar solo... Just watched the great movie "Walk the line", where Joaquin Phoenix does a great performance of this song at Folsom Prison. The sound of this movie is really crap. Recorded it through the audio interface and the comressor + delay really sucks for guitar (sorry Logic). Next video will be recorded with my loved pedalboard! Once again, sorry for the bad sync between sound and picture... // Marcus

MarQTwang´s late night country shredding MarQTwang - 2,441 views - 1 year ago
When jamming along with Magic Garageband on my Mac I made this little tricky tune, a lot inspired by three of my biggest heroes: the twangmasters Ray Flacke, Jerry Reed and Brent Mason. Since I´m playin´in the middle of the night, I´m playing lined into the audio interface, so unfortunately you won´t hear my new pedals in action this time.. Anyway, I hope you´ll like this video and I see ya soon! Best regards MarQTwang, Sweden

License to Twang... MarQTwang - 2,974 views - 1 year ago
A country/bluegrass jam with some tricky hot licks... I hope you enjoy this as much as I did when making it 3 AM in the morning! Forgot to sleep actually. A friend of mine claims that only nerds know what true fun is. =) This recording is made in the kitchen in my apartment, and thanks to my right arm you can´t see the Mount Everest-looking pile of dishes. To match my beautiful Vintage Hot Rod 52 telecaster I´m wearing my Cowboy-tie! See ya...

A little country jam played on my dear Custom´72 Mexico telecaster. I bought it really cheap from a neighbour some years ago and when playing jazz this is my main guitar (and of course my great sounding 1992 Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro...) Recorded through Logic Studio and iMovie and with my webcam, so unfortunately you´ll have to put up with some bad sync and bad filming... But I really hope you´ll enjoy it anyway. This country jam is in the key of D, a great key for banjo rolls and low register twang tones! See ya soon!

A Twangy Country Song... MarQTwang - 8,104 views - 1 year ago
Today I had a day off from work and woke up with a strong determination to write a new song. Normally I hate to play in C major when it comes to country, so I decided to start loving this key instead of avoiding it. Now in the end of the day I must say it was really worth the effort. At first it felt like Rodeo, but when mastering it C major has a lot of twangy possibillities! I´m going to upload a lesson based on this song as soon as I get the time, so please subscribe or come back in a few days. Thanks for listening and take care! Warm Regards MarQTwang

Hot Country Guitar Pickin´ MarQTwang - 27,035 views - 1 year ago
This is a full version of my latest song I wrote this week "A country theme for Anna". I´m sorry for the bad sync between the sound and the movie, but I hope you´ll find it enjoyable anyway. This tune is in E, which is my favourite key when it comes to playing country music. It gives at lot of possibilities to play open string runs, and I really love that! Thanks for watching... Regards Marcus "MarQTwang".

Anna´s country theme MarQTwang - 2,852 views - 1 year ago
A little song I´ve dedicated to my sister who is a country girl living in the Swedish outback... Played on a lovely and really addictive Vintage Hot Rod 52 telecaster through one of the great guitar amp simulators in Logic Studio. Recorded in me and my girlfriends kitchen. I guess I´m a guy who rather cook country music than do the dishes... Enjoy, my dear friends and I´ll see ya around!

About Me: Hi, and welcome to MarQTwang´s world of music. I´m Marcus Måttgård, a Swedish man addicted to guitar playing and music, especially when it comes to hot twangy telecaster solos and contemporary jazz. I appear as a guitar- and bassplayer in various constellations, playin´ lead twangguitar in "The White Trash Twang Gang" and also as a full-time music-teacher at a school of performing arts. On this site you´ll find some shorter country/bluegrass tunes and soon I´ll upload some country style lessons. I use hybrid picking frequently, a really cool technique that makes a telecaster sound at its best. Music is a fantastic thing, ey? See ya!

sökord är iaf: "Mark O'Connor & The American Music Shop! 1 of 4"

Det verkar inte fungera att skicka länkar via comments, men om du har lust så sök på:
