If you or a loved one has been diagnosed, you need a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. That's who we are.
We are the nurses and therapists helping you through treatment. The experts on the end of the phone. The advisers telling you which benefits you're entitled to. The volunteers giving you a hand with the everyday things. The campaigners pushing for better cancer care. The community supporting you online, any time. The fundraisers who make it all possible.
Many people who have undergone cancer treatment find that it can cause side effects such as fatigue, depression, weight gain and bone thinning. The good news is these side effects can be managed by reducing resting time during treatment and gradually building up physical activity levels after it. Getting active can have many other benefits too, such as cutting your risk of developing other health conditions.
At Macmillan, we believe that people living with and beyond cancer have the right to information and support, including around being physically active, throughout their cancer journey. And we're calling on our supporters and health professionals to help spread this message. If you have cancer or have had it and want to become more active, we can give you advice and support.
