4th Street Forum is a nonpartisan program, which promotes public discussion of political and social issues that are of concern to our community. Each week, a panel of experts presents their views on a chosen topic and explores solutions with the audience and the 4th Street Forum moderator.

Milwaukee Public Television (MPTV) tapes the forums in front of a studio audience for later broadcast on Channel 10.1. The 4th Street Forum audience is an important part of the program. It is a unique opportunity for the public to ask questions of the panelists. The forums are free and run from September through May. [Season 10: 2011-2012]

¡Adelante! | Season 13

¡Adelante! is a weekly, locally produced series celebrating the rich heritage of Latino people. The program airs in Spanish with subtitles in English. Program segments originally taped in English are captioned in Spanish.

Each episode explores the culture and concerns of the fastest growing community in southeastern Wisconsin. ¡Adelante! means "forward" in Spanish. The program looks at change and progress, highlighting the contributions of Latino individuals and organizations to the community. The series also discusses a variety of issues with experts who can speak to the needs of the Latino population. It is a valuable source of timely information for an underserved audience.

"Viewers may interpret the program's title as 'Latinos moving ahead with the times,'" said Rosa Dominguez, chairman of the ¡Adelante! advisory panel. "We see the program focusing on change, progress, and future movement for Latino people." [Season 13: 2011-2012]

Cooking Raw | Season 1

Raw food diets and recipes have increased in popularity over the years, as raw foods maintain extremely high level of the enzymes, minerals, and vitamins inherent in the foods.

The mother/daughter "raw-cooking" team of Caroline Carter and Shenita Ray, put a new twist on popular dishes by using raw ingredients to create them, such as "taco meat" made with walnuts, potato-free "mashed potatoes," raw chili, and gluten free, dairy free, desserts using no refined sugar.

Certified Raw Chef Caroline and Shenita are owners of Eden's Market, a small company dedicated to creating healthy foods that taste delicious. [Season 1: 2011]

Healthful Indian Flavors with Alamelu | Season 2

Healthful Indian Flavors with Alamelu is hosted by Milwaukee area resident, culinary educator, and three-time cookbook co-author Alamelu Vairavan.

A native of the Chettinad region of South India, Alamelu has lived most of her adult life in the United States. Over the years, she developed a deep interest in promoting the use of spices, legumes, and Indian cooking techniques into healthy food preparation that would appeal to Americans. She has been teaching for over 20 years about the health benefits of spices turmeric, cumin, ginger, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, coconut power, urad dal, cardamom, curry powder, and other ingredients in her recipes including, broccoli, legumes, beans, rice, and Brussels sprouts. I Remember | Season 18

Every week, I REMEMBER hosts special guests who share their personal stories. Viewers get an intimate look at politicians, entrepreneurs, artists, educators and other guests as they recall the great experiences and special moments, both large and small, of their lives.

The series has hosted Pulitzer prize-winning author Studs Terkel, Wisconsin Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, five-time Grammy award-winning vocalist Al Jarreau, actor John McGivern, former Wisconsin Governor and US Senator Gaylord Nelson and many other fascinating individuals.

From Cha Lee's harrowing story of escape from Laos to Johnny Logan's triumphant recollections of winning the 1957 World Series, I REMEMBER relives the social, historical and cultural events of the past with those who experienced them firsthand. The series is an expansion of the original I REMEMBER MILWAUKEE programs, drawing guests and topics from beyond Southeastern Wisconsin.

I REMEMBER, replete with spontaneous comments as well as insight and hindsight, also plays a special role in today's community as it develops and preserves an important oral history with the stories it captures.

The program is hosted by Jim Peck. Peck, an Emmy Award winning talk show host and former network game show emcee, adds his perspective and memories as a Milwaukee native and nationally known entertainer. [Season 18: 2011-2012]

Interchange | Season 17

InterCHANGE examines in-depth the week's major news stories. Each Friday night at 6:30 - repeats Sunday mornings at 11:00am, MPTV host and veteran newsman Dan Jones moderates a spirited discussion on a number of show topics of interest to the people of southeastern Wisconsin.

The panelists, Dan Jones, Rick Horowitz, Kevin Fischer, Joel McNally, Gerard Randall, Jr., and Denise Callaway, engage in lively debate on a broad range of issues, including politics, crime, economic and social issues. These panelists examine such topics each day in their respective fields. Therefore, they can--and do--offer informed, insightful, and often diverse opinions.

Each week, the program also contains a commentary written and delivered by syndicated columnist Rick Horowitz, whose wry wit often bubbles just beneath the surface in his usually-whimsical examinations of both offbeat and significant news stories. [Season 17: 2011-2012]

Outdoor Wisconsin | Season 28

Devoted to the outdoor enthusiast, Outdoor Wisconsin is a half hour weekly magazine series that travels Wisconsin covering a variety of outdoor activities and related projects.

Outdoor Wisconsin takes viewers to all parts of the state in all four seasons in an effort to help them understand, respect, and appreciate our natural resources.
