Absolutely superb display against Troon. Could have been more. Troon were poor but at the end of the day, we lost to a very poor Winton side two weeks ago so signs of a definite improvement. Jasper and McClure goals were eye-catching. Maryhill at home next week, and two of our main threats for promotion, East Kilbride and Rob Roy, still have to come to Barrfields. Just need to get the home form sorted. Away they have been a different side altogether. Bizarre season.

Spoke to Drew. He has apparently sent away some kind of form to the management so I should hopefully have some news for you shortly. As to when the placement may be though, it will probably depend on when my colleague decides to go on holiday so you can take his seat. I don't know when that might be.

Hello, Drew is keen to get you in. It depends on holidays for my colleague but sometime in the summer.

Given we seem to be a completely different team away from home, I reckon we can get a result at Kilbirnie. Probably a draw. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it ... the forecast is dire and it will probably be off!

Just as well you were at work and missed Largs chronic finishing. If they had taken just a few of the chances created, they would have scored double figures. No kidding. But they missed everything! Even a pen kick. Three away games in a row now so at least they can forget about their home hoodoo for a while. Largs always seem to perform much better on the road anyway. Happy new year when it comes Paul.

Well, that's the away unbeaten record gone. Ho-hum.
I wasn't there but apparently Connick wasn't enjoying a good afternoon when he misjudged a cross and it went into the net. I hear Cannie was fantastic on one hand, but was told that we didn't create one single chance of note, despite the Sunday Mail stating that Cannie missed an open goal. Johnstone Burgh at Barrfields this Saturday. Will see you then! |

They played some pretty rotten stuff in the first 35 mins but the turning point was really the first half substitution of Tom Molloy who was not having his best game for Martin Dow. They looked like a team transformed after that. Bankies were pretty duff after that, and had a man sent off needlessly which gave Largs all the advantage they needed after that. One of the goals was well taken from Largs but comical as Connick's huge kick out was missed by a hesistant defence and keeper and Cannie rushed in to score after rounding the said keeper. Largs were never in trouble in the second half.
Fulton was also a man inspired on Saturday. Largs can play really well at times but their form has undoubtedly dropped in recent home fixtures. Rob Roy on Saturday should be fascinating. If they win that, and can beat this season's whipping boys Johnstone Burgh a week later, Largs could finish 2008 top of the league ... despite being crap at home! |

Clearly missing your influence from the sidelines, Paul.
I highlighted the poor home form a few weeks ago and it was completely dismissed out of hand. Now everyone is talking about the miserable home form! Hope you like the interview on the Largs News website with Sandy. |

Hi Paul.
Connicks saves were incredible, particularly the second one which hand on heart, was one of the best pen kick saves I have ever seen (it was high and to the far right corner, Connick leapt through the air like superman to get it!) As far as Sandy McLean is concerned, like any manager, you stand or fall by your results. It has been okay so far but form has been a bit worrying recently after the great Linlithgow display. Hope Aberdeen is treating you well. I'd imagine a few Greek plates may have been smashed in The Granite City after the Panathaikos result!!! Check out my vid of a fire in Gateside Street. Not Oscar winning stuff admittedly but illustrates the point of the article! |
