DiMarzio, Inc. best known for its revolutionary direct-replacement guitar pickups. With legendary musicians such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Billy Corgan, Rob Caggiano, Joe Trohman, John Petrucci, Chris Broderick, Andy Timmons, Steve Morse, Greg Howe, Earl Slick, John 5 and Billy Sheehan on its roster of players, the company has sold millions of pickups worldwide and become an integral part of music's cultural history.
The DiMarzio was founded in New York City by guitarist, luthier, and amp repairman Larry DiMarzio. DiMarzio frequently experimented with rebuilding and rewiring guitar pickups, and in 1971, he discovered a way to alter the standard-issue sound of mass-produced guitars. By replacing the existing pickup with a direct-replacement of his own design — which fit seamlessly into the instrument — DiMarzio was able to customize the guitar's sound.
In addition to providing the best players in the world with pickups for over 30 years, DiMarzio also works with leading guitar manufacturers such as Ibanez, Fender, Jackson, Ernie Ball Music Man, Sadowsky, Gibson and more to provide their high-end guitars with custom pickups.
DiMarzio also manufactures the ClipLock guitar strap, instrument and microphone cables as well as solderless pickguards and pickup sets for easy installation.
