Hello Everyone, thank you for taking the time to view this.
My name is Kate Sykes, I'm 16 living in the Lake District in the UK.
As you can probably see, Im a very ambitious Lara Croft fan and cosplayer. My relationship with Lara all started when I was around 9 years old
Whenever I had troubles, was lonely or was down about living with Cerebral Palsy (as well as talking to my family) I always talked to a Tomb Raider poster of her or one of the dolls and it took everything away. I decided to leave secondary school during my 2nd year and now I feel much happier. Even though I think Im a strong person, I dont think I would be as strong as I am now if it wasnt for Lara and after all this time, I still always think of her as a close friend.
Now - being home educated for almost 4 years, I live with my Dad and visit my Mum during the day most days. I did web design for quite some time and now I'm looking into writing/directing, even editing so I hope you like all the videos Ive made up to get my experience up : ). I also write music on piano and keyboard.
Through this wonderful community, I now know a lot of lovely cosplayers, professional look-a-likes/models and people in the fan film business. Back in 2007, after watching the brilliant trailer for the fan film - Tomb Raider Ascension, I wrote to Aquila TV (production company), putting a comment on their youtube channel saying how good the film looked and how excited I was. They were kind enough to write back, saying they were very impressed with my website they viewed. It all lead to them contacting my Dad, saying they would like to invite me and some family members to their premiere. They did say dont tell me but I was with him when he received the email and cried with excitement : ). Talking to them before we set off to the showing, they offered me work experience there when Im 18.
