This video is a commentary on one of my political pet peeves. I want the Republican and Democratic parties intelligently to advance a fiscally and constitutionally conservative agenda. Republican officials, pundits, and activists who share my desire are not helping the cause by calling every economic policy they don't like "socialism."

If you want to criticize the Obama administration's handling of the economy, one better criticism is that the outcome of a "stimulus," as gauranteed by basic macroeconomic theory, is inflation. He is utilizing a Keynesian expansionary fiscal tool instead of letting the market correct. The result will be another bubble.

Also note that government ownership and public ownership are not the same things. We've heard about the US and Canadian governments taking ownership stakes in automobile manufacturers and banks, but the public continues not to have any say in the operation of these companies. If anything, that's fascism, not socialism. I mainly think of it as politicians robbing the taxpayers on behalf of major campaign contributors.

Finally, in case you completely missed the sarcasm, I am not an Obama fan.
