Unwritten tradition of the Romanian Air Force says that in 1945 at Neustadt near Vienna, the first Romanian pilot who ever flew a jet, after Henry Coanda in 1910, was lt. Teodor Greceanu with a Me 262.

The first jets entered in the Romanian Air Forces in 1951.
