The 90's are def the best for hip hop and rap. Styles and beats were straight raw and terribly personal. Not meant or targeted to an audience or particular demographic. It was an art of device to eventually become raw; soon too lucrative not to notice and in effect taken over from the outside in. The altered state of hip hop and rap today makes me only want to turn to the 90's.
