There are hundreds of thousands of actors worldwide. The ones who sign contracts with the major motion picture industry corporations, such as Fox, etc., those are the actors who choose to be famous. Actors can act on stage, as well, and gain very little recognition, yet find complete artistic satisfaction. Acting, in it's truest form, happens on stage. And television tends to be for clowns. And how about the photo shoots, the magazines, the thousands of interviews revealing personal aspects of their lives, the billboards, the commercials, the headlines everywhere -- featuring their names. You see? Promoting not only the job, the project, but the performers themselves -- self-promoting icons, turning themselves into idols.
