"Fireflies Twinkling"

16" x 20" x 3/4" Canvas with a black acrylic base coat.

After covering a used canvas with black acrylic paint. I recycled an old painting and created something new. I used a variety of colors in Acrylic Paints. I favored the Impasto application technique to apply the paints loosely with my fingers. Progressing to the final image by layering the colors for depth and interest. A free and open stroke left the finished work with an abstract appeal and an impressionistic nature. The subject matter of fireflies and the naive use of color and lines give it a folk quality.
