RPW highlights incl. the 2008 Feud of the Year JLG vs HLL

The feud started on Labor Day of 2008 when Dr. Johnny Gayton was being presented the Master Powerlifter of the Year award. Shaun Banks and Cru Jones interrupted the award presentation. Banks injured Gayton's rehabilitated left shoulder with a vicious hot shot followed by a chair shot from Jones. The shoulder injury cost Gayton a shot at repeating as world powerlifting champion. Gayton paid Banks back by giving him a Samoan drop and then applying lipstick to Banks face. The mysterious Southern Gentleman cost HLL a match on that same card. HLL then engaged Destro Xavier, esq. to represent them in a lawsuit against Gayton. Xavier hit Gayton with the subpoena resulting in him taking a Samoan drop. Gayton was then barred from attending the next card due to a restraining order. HLL mocked Gayton during his absence. Gayton returned the next week after purchasing controlling interest in RPW. He forced HLL members Cru Jones and Micah Taylor to wrestle one another in the RPW tournament. A six man tag between HLL and Xavier vs Gayton, Steele and Stalker was signed. HLL did their patented Lava drop on Gayton. They refused to face Gayton again unless he won a deadlift contest against them. Gayton was forced to risk his World Powerlifting Championship in the contest. If he won he got a shot at Xavier. Early in the evening the mysterious Southern Gentleman cost HLL a third time when he hit all 3 members of HLL causing them to lose to two fans. Xavier and HLL threw chalk in Gayton's eyes and administered a vicious beating to AJ Steele and Gayton. Fortunately the referee disqualified HLL and Gayton got Xavier in a lumberjack match. Prior to the match Gayton and Banks got into a brawl in the back stage area. Gayton had the match with Xavier won when Banks attacked. This resulted in a brawl that continued into Jrod's title shot with Banks and back stage again.

The feud heated up when it was announced that HLL would again face Gayton and Stelle, but this time their partner would be former heavyweight champion Ron Simmons. This enraged HLL to the level that they attacked Gayton in the parking lot. They also attacked a man in the red mask that turned out to be the host of RPW who was simply trying on the mask. Despite being injured Gayton was able to defeat Xavier in a Texas Death Match administering a knee lift followed by 2 vicious Samoan drops. HLL was attempting to take out AJ Steele when Gayton sprayed them with a fire extinguisher which in his words turned Lava into dirt. Thinking the battle was over for the night Gayton and Steele went to celebrate at Ryans which is a sponsor of RPW. Unfortunately they were followed by HLL and viciously attacked. The stakes have been raised even higher in 11/09/08's match. If Simmons, Steele, and Gayton win Gayton gets a match the following week with Banks.

Charlie Cash has put together a team composed of speed, strength, size, and technical ability. Unfortunately instead of concentrating on winning titles they have chosen to try to put Dr. Gayton on the shelf. He is fighting back with the help of his close friend and patient, J-Rod.
