This is Jalexis 11. Three guys from London on a mission to rock with their own blend of energetic electronica-infused rock, influenced mainly by Faithless, U2, Chemical Brothers and Stone Roses.
Their hook-heavy songs create a wonderfully addictive vibe and energy, both in their songs and live performances. The band appeal to a wide audience with their varied, yet simple and infectious style of music. From The Fez Club to Ministry of Sound, they always connect with the crowd and the crowd always connect with them.
HISTORY ~ Brothers Jamie AFRO and Stevo come from a music background, and have always written and performed music together. After several band incarnations, Jalexis 11 was born after teaming up with long time friend and musician Anthony Reed.
BAND MEMBERS ~
Jamie AFRO - The frontman with the big hair and big talent, Jamie wows and commands crowds with a combination of powerful soulful vocals, expressive, inventive and exciting guitar rhythms and entertaining with an unforgettable stage presence, charisma and humour. Jamie has played guitar most of his life and cites influences as Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, Jimi Hendrix, The Verve's Nick McCabe and U2's The Edge.
Stevo - Stevo's drumming style is simple and creative, yet full of passion and exciting to watch and listen to, both recorded and live. He compliments Jamie with backing vocals of the same wonderfully rich, soulful tone. On the occasions he steps up as the lead vocalist, he shines as the all-rounded talent he is. He quotes his influences as Larry Mullen Jr of U2, John Bonham of Led Zepplin and The Police's Stewart Copeland.
Anthony Reed - Anthony is a bass player with a infectious passion and feel. He has also played music most of his life and loves playing live. His warm but full sound joins the band's music together. His occasional backing vocals and additional sounds are a welcome addition to Jamie and Stevo's vocals.
