Reality Benders
15
Videos
This series looks at the Bible in the context of the real world and real world history. That is, it looks at the Bible in the context of the reality we live in, and examines how the mere existence of the Bible forces us to dramatically bend and reassess the perception and concept of reality that we have been taught from birth.
That the true reality we actually do live in is not the reality we have been taught but the far greater reality that the Lord has revealed to us in His word. |

Poetry & Music Videos

Videos
I am, among many other things, a poet. My daughter is a singer / composer (among many other things also). Here I present my poetry and her music as video clips. Some are recited, others are written on-screen to my daughter's music. Some are just so that you can groove to and enjoy my daughter's music and my photographs and graphics.(You can find my daughter on U Tube as "Minstrelbear" )

brewdarrymore ,
What you say is true which is why those who follow Christ need to keep in mind that their commission is not to defend the Lord and Jesus. They are quite capable of doing that themselves. We are here to bear witness and to help nurture, teach and encourage those whom the Lord saves (to make disciples). It is not about being defensive about our faith. It is about boldly reaching out knowing that it is the Lord Himself who "has our back". My videos about Atheism are only intended to highlight the logical inconsistencies and misinformation that pervades the atheist movement. Many of those who respond are merely defending an assumption. My hope is that those who seek THE truth will assess the comments and responses (as well as the videos) for themselves. I encourage those who seek the truth for themselves by testing and checking all things for themselves. |

Interesting that atheists who watched the thought provoking 'Atheists Dilema' video rated it so low and defended thier 'non belief' by challenging yours. It appears they reacted not intellectually but emotionally and irationally.. hatefully almost. No one likes thier faith or belief or non belief system challenged it seems, perhaps it is human nature to get defensive when our views are subject to scrutiny and we are shown truths that show us to be foolish or wrong. My own view is that when you challenge someone with belief and present another belief (political, religious or scientific) you don't convert them and make them think they are wrong you re-enforce thier belief and they go away and find more information to re-inforce thier view. Belief becomes entrenched and people follow it like they would a football team and it becomes Us vs Them Right vs Wrong and its that I find rather ugly. Your reasoning regards Atheism being a FAITH , a religion in everything but name is sound.

schnotzarella ,
Interesting you use the term "meglomaniacal". One who follows Christ hardly has feelings of personal omnipotence and granduer. We are but repentent and forgiven sinners who understand that without the Lord we are nothing and deserve nothing. We are saved by the LORD's grace, not by our own efforts. We cannot even save ourselves, let alone anybody else. WE bow to a higher authority in the universe. Atheists recognise no higher authority in the universe above themselves. To Atheists MAN is the ultimate authority of his own existence. Let others judge for themselves who considers themselves under authority and who considers themselves under authority to nobody. Who considers there is one greater than themselves and who does not. As to comments that has been covered many times but I do doubt there is any value to the rating system. I prefer people make up their OWN minds rather than be swayed by the opinions of others. I may yet disable it. |

Automatic one star for all videos that don't allow comments. Better disable ratings as well. Fact is, it makes no real difference whether you're religious or not, but if you present as a megalomaniacal whackjob, which "Christian" males, at least on this site tend to do, then you're doing more for atheism than for what you purport to be your own cause.

CORRECTION: It was late and I was tired. The meaning of "punished" in Exodus 21:20-21 is "certainly avenged" (the Hebrew "naqam"). "Avenged" tended to mean reciprocal treatment (eg. life for life). But it would need more thorough investigation to determine if that was the case intended here. |

Now about truth No.4. This is not about HOW an Atheist BEHAVES, it speaks of the LACK OF DEFINITION of the terms "good", "Bad", etc. These are words you would find at the head of the column, but SOMEBODY has to decide what goes into what column. What behaviours, etc. are "good", which are "bad" and so on. Without a God , WHO gets to decide what goes into what column? You claim to be "good" but by WHOSE definition are you held to be "good"? I'm sure you are good in your OWN eyes, but what does the guy next to you think? What about somebody from another culture or country? Would THEY think you are "good"? If you drink alcohol what about the millions of people who think drinking alcohol is BAD? The world is proof man is not "naturally" good. The world is also proof there is no universal moral code EVERYBODY agrees to. If you have the right to judge YOURSELF to be "good" by YOUR standard does not somebody else have an EQUAL right to judge you bad by THEIR standard? |

As to confessions = forgiveness certain Orthodox churches claim this But the Bible does not actually say it. The Bible makes it clear there is no place in Heaven for the WILFUL sinner. Jesus does not offer freedom TO sin, He offers freedom FROM sin. The sin that Jesus forgives in His followers is the UNINTENTIONAL / ACCIDENTAL sins we all commit at some stage as we TRY to obey His word and command. You will note that the Mosaic Law makes the same distinction between unintentional and intentional sin. There was no forgiveness for intentional sin under the Mosaic Law, only unintentional/accidental sin. It is REPENTENCE, not confession that leads to forgiveness. BUT repentence requires a change of behaviour. The repentent heart does not go out and chose to sin again. (cont.) |

Not sure what your problem with Ecclesiastes 7:26-26 is. Solomon here is speaking of his utter dislike of those women who use their bodies and sex appeal to entice, lure, decieve, ensnare, defraud, etc. But that the Lord will protect those who are repentent and obedient, but not those who are UNREPENTENT sinners. Why should those who reject the Lord expect to be protected by Him? As to contradictions I have heard many people CLAIM (or as you do INFER) there are, especially those who haven't read or understood it at all properly. I have never found any ACTUAL contradictions in it and I've read it a lot - ALL of it. |
