"Who are you, and why should I or my loved one train with you?"
I, to, am very cautious about who I receive my training from, and I thank you for taking the time to read this. By just being at this website it is obvious that you have heard of IPDSystems or Center Axis Relock (Military and Law Enforcement only) and want to learn more about this type of training and how it will make you as safe as possible during a confrontation with an adversary. If you are at this page you are already intrigued by IPDSystems and Center Axis Relock from reading about it on my "What is IPDS" page, reading about it on the various internet tactical forums, or from an actual operator who has been through the training. Before taking the plunge to sign up for a class, though, it is important to know who will be training you or your loved one......

My name is Bryn Reynolds and I am based in the Saratoga, NY area. I work in law enforcement full-time and am fortunate to have served my fellow members as a Sergeant for the last decade. I am especially proud to be able to serve as my agency's Special Weapon And Tactics Team Commander. I love training and conducting real-world missions with my team and am proud to say that all are Certified Center Axis Relock Operators. You may meet some of them as my Assistant Instructors / Range Safety Officers if you attend one of my training sessions. Also, I am fortunate to serve as a Regional Director for the
NY Tactical Officer's Association, and help shape the training programs that SWAT Operators across the state participate in.

That being said, SAFETY is our number one goal during all IPDSystems / C.A.R. training sessions. If I deem necessary due to class size I may utilize additional Assistant Instructors / Range Safety Officers. Rest assured, all are fully certified C.A.R. Operators or NYS Law Enforcement Certified Firearms Instructors. All have law enforcement and/or military experience and are current/former members of Special Weapons And Tactics teams or high-speed military units. If any unforseen medical emergencies or injuries arise during our training all have been trained in emergency trauma medicine. Life-saving trauma gear is always on site. Many of our instructors have utilized this training in real-world situations, both here at home and overseas......

I have also been a member of the Army & Army National Guard
(MOS 19Delta: Cavalry Scout) for almost 20 years. I am fortunate to have received, and currently provide, extensive training in Close Quarters Combat and it has served me well during tours In Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I very much look forward to training with you.

The C.A.R. Systems excells at minimizing recoil, allowing for very fast follow-up shots without having to reacquire the target that is common due to the "wrist-break/snap" inherent with the isosceles "stance." In Basic Operator Course, I have students putting 4 handgun rounds on target in less than one second. The next time I get to fire a SAW or a 240 I'll try to get that filmed for you.
Thanks,
Bryn

Thanks Bry, I was so blown away that when I put that demo on my vlog to advertCAR, I had forgetten to favorite hahah...Damm, the recoil goes down due to the retention body mech .huh hahah.. Thx Bryn ,had totally forgotten to go to the range so my bud would do that demo.....Hey ur mad busy,so it;s cool if u don't have time Bryn,,but u said u did same demo with higher cal. on FULL AUTO,,,,Why when u have time ,make a vid with the highest cal. MG u have laying around? It would sell CAR worldwide instead of to a single potential SWAT platoon,,,,,+ I reeallllly would luv to see that :)
thx again Bryn..

Video Posted. One from The HIGH POSITION, on the tacticially-unsound "one foot stance" as requested! Well off my butt and still in the fight. I then threw in one from the Combat High Position, and then back down to the High Position....in about 4 seconds. Not pictured is the one-handed reloading, simulating a left-arm injury. This is from yesterday's C.A.R. class.
Thanks,
Bryn

hey thanks for making a vid when u have time out of ur hectic schedule of the standing one leg 12 ga. shottie without fallling on ur butt using CAR..I believe u guys ,but can't mentally picture it.Goes against all my trad. modiso/weaver stance/ IDF pointing training :-(..Either evolve, adapt or die :-) !!
"I've even fired much larger, full-auto, weapons using that demonstration and it works! "
Get out! When u have free time off the job and from training students. Would u make a video of the recoil control standing on one leg with something FULL AUTO, I thought my LE bud meant only single shot. and only with shotties! Do u have anything in that new 6.8 or the new .50 cal AR carbine :-D
That would be mad cool to see u shooting it would ROCK if you used a SAW Full auto demo and an insane selling point for CAR !
If you don't have the time, I totally understand man..U out there putting ur life and limb on the job!

Thanks for the nice comments, and I'll see if I can film that for you. Be assured, though, he is correct regarding the recoil control. I've even fired much larger, full-auto, weapons using that demonstration and it works!

thanks for the invite :-), the chief of spectretactical and a friend of paulie first told me about CAR says (which I totally believe, but can't even imagine ) that he can stand on one foot, fire a 12 ga. from retention and not fall on his ass :-)!
Even though it has zero tactical value except to show the amazing recoil control,Would u please make a vid of that since he's LE , our schedules conflict ,hard for us to link up to go to shooting range..also Rick is all the way in Connecticut and quite busy while I'm in NYC :-( !! Great stuff man, more LE learning CAR=more LE going home safetly to kiss their loved ones :-) .Stay Safe sir :-)
