Went to Auckland. Jumped of the SkyTower. Overcame vertigo. Went Home. Made a video.

Ok, actually I only did a base jump by wire for tourists. But it was scary as hell nevertheless. Enjoy! ;-)

The video of the actual jump was recorded by a falling cam, transmitted without wires to the base station and recorded onto DVD there. I then fiddled around with Carrara 3D Basics 2, a cute little piece of 3D modelling and rendering software made by a company called Eovia. There I created a pretty dull, concrete looking scene into which I implanted a 3D model of the tallest building in the southern hemisphere: The SkyTower. I slightly modified the beautful SkyTower by attaching a most probably stupid looking giant screen to its observation deck. Oh well, apparently I did not attach it good enough. Anyways, after some more fiddling around with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 I finally had my first Vimeo HD video on my disk. :-) Oopss...forgot to tell you about the insane 3D rendering times.
