About Me:

The Hip Hop Think Tank (HHTT) of California State University, Northridge (CSUN), exist to facilitate, provoke, and realize positive movement through academic analysis, research and critical discourse relative to issues which impact and/or emanate from the world of hip hop. HHTT represents the merging of Hip Hop culture with academia, completing the core components of Hip Hop Culture by advancing Hip Hops political, social, and economic evolution through community activism, organizing, and mobilizing the hip-hop generation. We do this by maintaining local, national, and global communication between Hip Hop organizers, activism, artist, and students via the Hip Hop Think Tank annual Scholarly Journal and its corresponding website, pod cast, blogs, publication, and other media outlets.

What kind of school is this? do the students lack common sense? ?They don't know a hustler when they see one.Karrine is after money and fame and will hustle her way to the top. They think she's writing books to enlighten young girls? ? ? Her hustle game is tight. Karrine is strictly a paper chaser. If this school payed her for some common sense talk with a snotty delivery - they just got hustled.

I wish you people who are so insistent on talking smack would learn how to spell. it would help if we could read your nonsense. Beautiful black people let's try not to be ignorant. Let's put together literate and well-thought through answers, especially those of us who managed to make it to college. Please. Please. Please. Let's not forget the importance of a subject and verb, conjunctions and punctuation. Dictionaries are amazing inventions as well as thesauri. If you don't have one you should!

Quran. . . FYI This book is very relevant. It is required reading for the Politics of Hip Hop Class. It is very necessary in analyzing womens positions within the Hip Hop community and constructing frameworks in which to discuss these same women. It is also important in asking ourselves why the black community and hip hop generation is willing to forgive and excuse a man like R Kelly who rapes young girls but we're not forgiving of a young woman who was raped and never guided to the right path in life. Hip Hop is willing to give a pass to artist who make millions off records exploiting women and putting their business out in the streets but a woman who decides to make money in a very similar way is ignored. Think about it. When is the last time you or anyone you know called Jay Z or Lil Wayne a hoe? When is the last time we criticized Wayne for being a drug-head or Rick Ross for glorifying drug dealing? If we must be critical lets be critical of all our hip hop personnel.

Why would a College University give Karrine Stephans a forum? Her book doesn't touch on any relevant issues within the black community as far as correcting the social ills within it, in fact she glamorizes it. Also, what class is her book required reading?? Just wanted to know out of curiosity.

~Peace~
