Road Scholars: Robert Rosen
3 videos
May 7, 2009 - Hauenstein Center Director Gleaves Whitney interviews Robert Rosen, who is a lawyer, historian, and author of "Saving the Jews: Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the Holocaust."
Saving the Jews: FDR and the Holocaust
8 videos
Rosen offers extensive evidence of FDR's close ties to Jewish leaders, and his appointment of many Jews to high-level positions, including the Supreme Court. Rosen outlines the numerous attempts FDR made to allow Jewish refugees to enter the United States -- and explains why, at weaker periods of his presidency, FDR simply didn't have the political capital to wage these battles. He also offers a full picture of the overwhelming mood in the country -- the strong desire to remain neutral regarding European affairs and the distrust of anything that smacked of internationalism. And he points to divisions in the American Jewish community, which had not reached a consensus as to the best policy for freeing their European counterparts from Nazi persecution. Rosen takes on each of the chief accusations frequently leveled at Roosevelt with regard to his handling of the Holocaust, and demonstrates why these charges are unfair and unfounded.

Thank you for posting the lectures on Christopher Dawson. His book Historic Reality of Christian Culture is my quote book for any thing antiquity and church history, second only to The Holy Bible.

do you think you could please tell us about nonpartisan government?
how can it be created, and preserved? what good would it do? in what way did it apply to the classics? what did our founding fathers excatly think of it?
i'm just as interested in it as they were.
i hope to learn more about it soon, hope we get a lengthy and juicy description. thank you so much for your time, take care!

Much thanks for the Hitchens vs Hitchens upload. I've been eager to see a real heated Hitchens vs Hitchens debase, since their short radio debate :)
