Sen. Bill Frist, M.D. is currently in Africa! He will be traveling throughout Mozambique and Rwanda for 10 days visiting clinics, food securities programs, dignitaries, orphans and other vulnerable children. He will be observing cutting-edge, innovative technologies, researching waterlines, and observing how the public/private sector are coming together. He'll be visiting orphan gorillas in Rwanda, and he's even participating in a surgery while there! In a word, he's observing and reporting the good stories of Africa- what is going well there- who is doing it- and how we can all make a difference. He will be working with groups like Save the Children, The ONE Campaign, Africare, Samaritan's Purse, and others. Stay tuned for daily blog updates of his experiences while there.

Established in 2004 by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D., Hope Through Healing Hands is a 501(c)3 organization promoting improved quality of life for communities around the world.

To accomplish this goal, Hope Through Healing Hands distributes charitable contributions in support of infrastructure, education, healthcare, emergency relief, and access to general aid.

Hope Through Healing Hands has donated more than $3 million to charities in both the United States and abroad since its inception. Although that assistance has primarily focused on HIV/AIDS, projects ranging from Hurricane Katrina assistance and recovery to healthcare education in Africa have benefited from Hope Through Healing Hands contributions.
