October Came to Call
(Words and Music by Paul Larson. August 8, 2008)
The blankets are just a little cool,
And it's lovely sleeping weather.
August with the eyes for fall,
It doesn't get much better.
I saw October in the sky today,
And smelt some burning wood out West.
It was something in the air unknown,
Which brought the fall here in August.
I felt a glimpse of fall today,
As it came across the morning sky.
I felt a glimpse of fall today...
As October came to call.
The trees are still so very green,
Even though fall seems so far away.
But leaves have many ways to whisper,
Of the change of any coming face.
I felt a glimpse of fall today,
As it came across the morning sky.
I felt a glimpse of fall today...
As October came to call
As October came to call.
The seasons bring sweet evidence,
And there are prophets in the wind.
Nature triggers memories,
To be cherished once again.
I felt a glimpse of fall today,
As it came across the morning sky.
I felt a glimpse of fall today...
As October came to call...
As October came to call.
