We've been having fun with the Scalextric Sport Digital (SSD) stuff for a while, but apparently that wasn't fun ENOUGH for my son. He needed loops and banks that go up walls! He was already saving up, but we gave him the Carrera Go!! Batman and Joker set for his birthday. A week later he spent his own money on a track expansion pack and we were able to make this fairly complex layout. Another week later and we had a table made up for his room to hold the track.
The books are temporary, of course. At some point it will have some wood ramps for the overpass section. He has big plans for scenery on this track in a desert theme (hence the base coat of tan paint) but not a lot of "get up and go" to actually do it. I think I'll be using this as practice for techniques I'll use when building the permanent SSD track I'm planning.
Anyway, this video, as you've probably already seen, is me running two laps on each lane. It's a fun race in either direction on either lane. Should be pretty cool once we get some better supports, maybe some more borders, and some scenery in there. :)
