Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

It was late 1898 when a quiet young man named Frank Seiberling founded The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. With just a handful of employees, production began in a converted strawboard factory on the banks of the Little Cuyahoga River in Akron, Ohio.

Today, more than a century later, Goodyear employs over 73,000, operates more than 53 plants in 22 countries, and with net sales exceeding $20 billion, has grown to become one of the largest tire companies in the world.

Yet one thing has never changed since its humble beginnings. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company retains its proud heritage by keeping its world headquarters in Akron, Ohio.
