Again bored, I whipped out a save of a plane I made way back in 2007 to try and fix the darned petrol thrusters that have been broken forever. I couldn't get them to work with LS3, but they did start working with LS2 again for some strange reason.

Pardon the constant crashing into things, the dupe makes the steering hard, especially when you're just rocking the plane left to right and using the throttle.

I've been wanting to make a v12 in Gmod fow awhile, but I knew it was going to be a pain in the arse to do, so I put it off forever. Lacking anything to do on a saturday morning, i fired up Gmod and got working on it. So far I've put 4 hours into this thing and it still has a vast number of problems. Source really isn't designed to have 12 ropes attached to the same prop, so the pistons glitch. Sliders in Gmod also suck, they love to break and send stuff flying all over the place.

If that's not enough headache, the timing is extremely tempermental and doesn't work perfectly yet (the reason for the heavy flywheel.)

Basically I was working on one of my planes when my friend messaged me and wanted to do some coop building. He created this sort of a failure of a pontoon boat and wanted me to figure a way to power it. Since my Inline 6 was underpowered, I stuck one of my aircraft V8 engines on it with a two bladed prop, which was still underpowered.

Going for broke, I stuck another V8 on the end and welded the crankshafts together and put contra-rotating props on the back to make a jimmy rigged V16, which worked. There was more dicking around with this thing, but I couldn't record it all due to time and file size contraints.

All in all, it reached a speed just shy of 45 mph while at the same time causing my server to have a heart attack from all of the physics.

To note, there was a command I forgot to set prior to me recording the movie and you won't be able to hear my voice as a result. I didn't say anything too important, so just make it up as you go along :)

This is a video highlighting the engine run of a Fokker Dr.1 Triplane during the 2009 Old Kingsbury Aerodrome Spring (postponed to June 20th) Air Fair. Unfortunately, the winds were such that they were unable to fly the Triplane, but they did display the engine to the very pleased crowd. The Pioneer of Flight Museum's Dr.1 is a perfectly accurate replicate of a standard WWI Fokker Dr.1. Their Dr.1 has an original, restored, 1919 Le Rhone rotary engine producing 80hp. It was a real treat to see such an old engine come to life!
