Flintknapping demonstrations focusing on possible aboriginal tools and methods of replicating ancient stone artifacts. My name is Marty Rueter and live in N. Central Arkansas. I will be making more videos hopefully in the near future. Thanks to everyone for their interest and enthusiasm for knapping and this channel. Your comments and questions are appreciated and I will check in as often as I can get to a computer. Thanks, Marty

I've used quartzsite before, but haven't quartz or geode type rocks. Those are usually really hard. General rule is that the hardest of hammerstones work well to take 'test flakes' on chunks of material that are tough to get into, but are very harsh if bifacial thinning is what they're used for. They have a habit of causing shattering or initiating undulating, deep flakes. Thanks for the comment!
