BMW launches the new F 800 R. The bike features parallel twin engine with electronic fuel injection, which develops 87 horsepower from its 798 cubic centimetres, a 86 Newton-metres of torque and has a Akrapovic sport silencer retrofitted, its sound is every bit as impressive as its performance. The 320-millimetre Brembo double disk brake at the front ensures maximum stopping power, while optional BMW Motorrad ABS and TPC Tyre Pressure Control further enhance safety. The bike is also highly manoeuvrable, thanks in part to the lightweight aluminium in its rigid frame and dynamically styled double swing-arm, which helps keep its dry weight down to just 177 kilograms.

At the 2009 New York International Auto Show, GMC debuted two new models - the all-new 2010 GMC Terrain and the 2009 Yukon Denali Hybrid.

Needing to reduce brands and models to compete, General Motors has combined three of its most recognized brands; Buick, Pontiac and GMC into one sales and marketing channel - which means many dealers, who had one or two of the brands previously, will now sell all three under one roof.

GM says each brand will play to its strengths Buick larger, premium cars; Pontiac sportier cars; and GMC pickups, SUV's and Crossovers.

Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) have been introduced into Formula One as part of the sport's major regulation change for 2009.

A means to recover energy created under braking, the new regulation will see all teams running either a battery or flywheel system this season in an effort to improve racing. With the potential for the systems to be filtered into other applications, KERS is also one of the sport's major green initiatives.

Williams is the only team on the grid to be using a flywheel system which is demonstrated in this film, together with the team's Chief Designer, Ed Wood and CEO of Williams Hybrid Power, Ian Foley.

Formula 1 cars have changed significantly from 2008 to 2009 thanks to several new aerodynamic rules. The new rules, which introduce bigger front wings and smaller rear wings among other changes, are primarily designed to increase the chances of overtaking during Grand Prix. The Kia Soul, the company's new urban crossover, is in showrooms now. Soul customers in Europe are offered a choice of 126 ps diesel or 126 ps gasoline engine. For the USA, Canada and some non-European general markets, it is also available with a 2-litre, 142 ps gasoline engine. Soul acceleration times (to 100 kph) range from 10.4 to 11.3 seconds and fuel consumption spreads over a 5.1 to 6.6 litres/100 km span, while CO2 figures vary between 137 and 159 g/km for European models.
