***To get the tempo past 500 on the old MPC, make sure your song is saved first, then go to the directory where Mario Paint Composer was extracted, go to Prefs, and open up the song you're working on in Notepad. The digits at the end of the bottommost line represent the tempo, simply change them and overwrite the file.
There are a couple spots where the ships are barely audible. I'm aware of these but I don't know how to fix them. :(

This one I recorded straight from Mario Paint and edited in Audacity. In it I "fixed" the stars (sounds better to me, but they're still not nearly loud enough), the gaps from transitions, and a few other small things. If you use this as a ringtone, feel free to put it up as a video response. I'd love to hear how it sounds. :D

Well, I said I wouldn't be doing any more any time soon, but I couldn't resist. I started this a long time ago and gave up, only to recently discover that it could work out. So I put a little more effort into it and I was able to finish it pretty quickly.
I didn't even want to TRY to replicate the laughing sounds at the end, it would have ended up a horrific mess.
I tried to counter the sound compression with this, so this also doubles as a test to see if I got it to work.

A: Around 10-20 hours overall spanned from April 1st to April 21st.
Q: How do I do sharps and flats?
A: Hold Shift while placing a note to do a sharp and hold CTRL while placing a note to do a flat.
For Mac Users: Hold Shift while placing a note to do a sharp and hold CMD while placing and to do a flat.
Q: Can I have the text files please?
A: No. Simply no. No matter how much you beg, no matter how much you troll, I will not give out the text files. Reason - People will replace the sound, add extra notes, etc and claim it as their own. I can count on it.

Q: Is Mario Paint for PC or SNES or what?
A: Both. Mario Paint is a game made for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System to educate children artistically. Now art doesn't necessarily have you be some you appreciate with your eyes, you can appreciate it with your ears. And to try and inspire children to compose music they gave a VERY restricted Music Composer in the game.
About 15 years later a little bunch of programmers thought it would be a good idea to re-create the Mario Paint Sequencer for PC. And that is what I'm using.

Q: I just started the MPC. Are there any songs that you'd recommend I do for starting off?
A: 8-Bit music is usually very easy to transcribe into Mario Paint by ear. Even easier through MIDI. So I recommend anything from the 8-bit era.
Q: I've heard you mention text files a couple of times. What the hell are they?
A: Files that hold the data for Mario Paint songs. But I don't really trust giving them out to anyone. Why? People will take it and claim all credit.
Q: Can I have the .avi/.wmv so I can upload this to my account?
A: Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... no. If I see this video has been re-uploaded, I'll get my army of trolls on you! I SWEAR! You should also upload your own stuff rather then feeding on other people's work.
Q: Did you do this by ear?
A: AGH! No I didn't. Unfortunatly... I used a MIDI and a notation programme. Although I wish I had done it by ear now. Oh teh wellz.
Q: What is the tempo.
A: It's 750. About 50 under what it's supposed to be when I look back. It should be around 800.
