Great question! Depression in children is often mistaken for childhood moodiness or adolescent angst. We know that adolescence poses challenges that take their toll on the child's emotions. However, if not investigated responsibly, depression in kids can be written off as "moodiness" and then not taken seriously.

We know that depression is not just a disorder experienced by adults, children get depressed as well. Why would childhood depression pose a different set of problems for diagnosis?
