If you want to run Mac OSX, then get a Macbook.. If you don't mind running another other OS like Windows 7 or Ubuntu, you can consider the Envy 14 :)

Depends if you get a unit with the 1366x768 res screen or 1920x1080 screen. If 1366x768 it can probably handle Skyrim at Medium settings. If 1920x1080 screen, most likely not at native res (you can of course, scale the game down to a lower res if you own the 1920x1080 res screen).

I'd say the performance is great compared to others it its class (Envy 14, Macbook Pro 15" 2011, etc.) Heat isn't really a problem. Mostly gets hot in the back-left corner (where the exhaust vent is) and warm on the bottom (I'd prob not use this on my laptop for gaming. Using on a table is fin...

Yes, it can handle GTA 4 fine. GTA4 seems to be a bit more CPU-dependent though so if you got the Envy 14 with the quad-core i7-720M/820M it would probably perform better. Not to say it'll run bad with a dual-core i3/i5 (plus there are other advantages to dual-core i3/i5 like better battery lif...
To each his own :)
