I just got MegaMan 9 this morning (September 22nd, 2008. The North American Launch Date), and I'm pretty psyched.

I feel like I stepped in a time machine back to 1987 and I'm back home with my family in our old Los Angeles apartment, playing on our old NES.

MegaMan 9 actually has downloadable content. Apparently, ProtoMan is coming on October 10th as a downloadable character.

Seeing Auto rendered as an 8-Bit Sprite is kinda funny.

I don't claim to be "bad-ass" at this game or anything. I'm not a "Speed Runner", I'm just a nostalgic, old-school gamer from the 80's Era. I just thought I'd knock out Tornado Man first with nothing but my Mega Buster--the way it SHOULD be done.

It took me a while to get used to the stage, but I beat it. Although Tornado Man killed me twice in the process.

September 23rd, 2008: Update
I've decided to just do a whole playthrough video (NOT a Speed Run, so there will be some mistakes) of the game in order by boss weakness:

Tornado Man → Magma Man → Hornet Man → Splash Woman → Concrete Man → Galaxy Man → Jewel Man → Plug Man

A Music Video from me, DeviFoxx. Featuring the song 「少年ハート」 "Shounen Heart", by the Japanese R&B band 「ＨＯＭＥ　ＭＡＤＥ　家族」 "Home Made Kazoku".

Originally, I intended this video to be by entry for the 2007 FFXI FanFestival Video Contest. However, my time ran short unfortunately--and the rules were a bit more strict this year as it seems.

Not to be deterred, however. I decided to see my video through all the way to its end. I don't need to enter a contest to prove my worth. I will always have an audience on the internet, I feel. Says my friend, Sean--who helped me with certain parts of this video.

This video was the first time I used "Adobe After Effects" also. Typically, I always used "Adobe Premiere Pro". But After Effects was good for implimenting many 3-D elements that Premiere Pro just isn't capable of pulling off. So if the 3-D part of the video looks a little "jumpy", please bear with me.

The hand-drawn Artwork was by a friend I commissioned [albeit for free, even though I owe him greatly] by Sean "Kato Arabel" Danielson. [ http://www.venthyrll-saga.com/ ]

He did the initial line art and colored in the battle posing characters (the ones that appear in the 3-D segment), while I colored in the still poses (the ones that appear at the end and beginning of the video).

Final Fantasy XI 2D Animation Test + Time-Lapse Film / FFXI２Dアニメ・テスト＋時間の経過フィルム

This is old stock footage I made back when I was working with my other Final Fantasy XI Music Video, Shounen Heart 少年ハート a year ago. The background in the first half of the video I made was from using the program FFXITool and taking pictures of sections of the area "Tu'Lia". Then I spliced in clouds and backgrounds for added effect, and added an intense Lens Flare effect to emulate the Sun.

FFXITool's Draw Distance only goes so far, so I had to take pictures of Tu'Lia in sections and break it up that way. The remainder of the video was compiled in Adobe PhotoShop and Premiere Pro.

The transition with the FFXI Logo I had to create completely from the ground-up by extracting the original FFXI Logo from the AltanaViewer tool, convert it to Grayscale, then make several layers to clean it up and re-write the FFXI font, stroke-for-stroke.

I didn't use the original font for the FFXI Series Logos ( Runic MT Condensed ) because while it is the same logo that Square-Enix used for the FFXI Logo, they slightly distorted it, so I had to re-draw it. The "Online" word was erased and done over with the same font ( Times New Roman ) and set to Bold. The Japanese ファイナルファンタジー Text was also done in the same way, but with another font ( MS Gothic ).

I tried to make this logo the same as the original FFXI logo so it'd be a clean image I could use over and over and over again for future FFXI videos.

The time-lapse footage of the area, "Aht Urghan Whitegate", was filmed using the Time-Lapse Feature of Camtasia Studio. I left it running for about 3 or 4 hours. Isn't it amazing how long people just sit there AFK for the whole dang day? I especially like the Tarutaru who runs up, and sits and synthesizes for a day. It's like watching ants go about their daily routine, isn't it?

About the sounds. The first half was from Ambient sounds in PlayOnline Viewer and the BGMs used were:
