Tool2008 is right. Socialism is just anti-American and it doesn't work. It will only bring eventual Anarchy due to riots for democracy and actual wealth. It also seems ironic because thousands of Chinese college students died in Tianemenn Square for American-esque democracy (I can't spell Tianemenn correctly) and we are saying that "it's full of shit" and sacrificing our freedom to thrive, freedom to think, and our freedom to do is what we need. That is what will make the world hate us, not trying to stabilize an OPEC country or stopping a terrorist organization.

You do understand that BOTH sides have terrible ideas, right? Lowering taxes doesn't help because programs will be cut. Raising them will make paying taxes even harder for the less fortunate, causing people to lose cars, homes, or even their freedom (going to jail). But conservatives have a chance with their idea because less taxes (which goes for ALL people, not just the rich like you claim) equals more spendable money. Also, it can't put us in $17 trillion debt. Socialist ideas don't work because there is no real will to do anything because the govt. can just wipe your ass for you when you need it (and if you can sacrifice any slight thought of individuality). The Democratic party is a party of lazy idiots who have will throw the baby with the bathwater if wanted (they already kill millions with abortions).

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess anothers wealth but also the desire to see anothers wealth lowered to the level of ones own. Socialisms teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said Mussolini, is " a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interestsrealizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

But the one thing that the entrepreneur values over all others is freedom--the freedom to experiment, invent and produce. The one thing that the entrepreneur dreads is government intervention. Government taxation and regulation are the means by which social planners punish and restrict the man or woman of ideas.

Welfare, regulations, taxes, tariffs, minimum-wage laws are all immoral because they use the coercive power of the state to organize human choice and action; theyre immoral because they inhibit or deny the freedom to choose how we live our lives; theyre immoral because they deny our right to live as autonomous moral agents; and theyre immoral because they deny our essential humanity. If you think this is hyperbole, stop paying your taxes for a year or two and see what happens.
