This song details the exploits of Doctor Ignatius X. Stone, a character created by Bal-Sagoth lyricist/vocalist Byron Roberts. Doctor Stone's discoveries in "Unfettering The Hoary Sentinels Of Karnak" ultimately lead him to the ancient city of Ur, and that song forms a duology with "The Dreamer In The Catacombs Of Ur".
