All the flashback scenes from the third episode of "Smallville" season 8, "Toxic," are recollected in this 10 minute origin of the Green Arrow.

It should be noted that this is the very first time that the Green Arrow's origin has been done in a live action medium. Previous visually told origins include two animated features. One was in the Kid's WB cartoon "The Batman" in thats fifth season episode "Vertigo," and the other was the mobile phone "Smallville Legends: Oliver Queen" mini-series, which should be noted as to being extrememly different than this, thus answering the long held question "are the Smallville Legends minis canonical within the Smallville timeline?" with a resounding "No!"

The Island origin, itself, has been retold a number of times in the comics, but the most recent, and currently canonical telling of it was the 6 part mini-series entitled "Green Arrow: Year One."
