These three dogs are Dandie Dinmont Terriers and were filmed in April 2009 in a beautiful Bluebell Wood near to our home in Southern England. Spring time in a Bluebell wood is a magical time and the scent just after that have first gone into flower can be amazing too. THis short clip shows "Scarlett" a Mustard female (off the lead) her mustard son "Jackson" our Hockey playing dog, now a year old and "Crosby" my famous Look-Alike dog now 11 years young!

The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is one of the UK's rarest breeds. They are officially designated by the UK Kennel Club as a "Vulnerable Native Breed" due to their very low numbers. For example in 2006 the Kennel Club in the UK registered just 78 new Dandie puppies, compaire this to the 45,799 Labradors registered during the same period. That is 125 Lab puppies for every day of the year! A recent breed club survey suggested that there could be as few as 50 breeding females left in the UK. The Dandie is just one of a group of British and Irish dog breeds causing concern because of their low numbers, some of the others Terrier breeds include: Skye Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Smooth Fox Terrier, Glen of Imaal Terrier, Irish Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, Manchester Terrier, Norwich Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Skye Terrier, Welsh Terrier and the Miniature Bull Terrier.
