Hello TwilightBells18 if your potassium alum is iron-free it's ok, there is many kind of alum, potassium alum , chrome alum, amonium alum etc..., the main problem when purchasing potassium alum is that there is not 100 % pure they add some kind of stuff more, so just pay attention to get potassium alum 100 % pure, the industrial quality if less expensive than the USP personnal use

Hello all, plastic may work for the crystal generator, i had never try it, and i have never make a solution with the exact proportion, it's all a matter of excedent , i mean if you dissolve 500 gr of alum in water and after the colling you got , heu let's say 400 gr, then there is 100 gr always in the solution, so look, all you need is take the cooled solution and add , heu let's say 350 gr, dissolve it in the solution (with the 100 gr in it), so after the second colling you'll get 350 gr in crystal exactly, so the starting solution will always have some alum in it, and then you add only the quantity you want to get back after, in the feeding bottle you put as much as you want, all is in my videos, good luck

Hi I was thinking of doing a little experiment with crystals and grow a alum crystal, i was going to heat some dest water to ca 50C and make a saturated solution, then por it over to another container where i am actually gonna grow the crystal where I will have a magneticstirring pad and a "crystal generator" a platsic plate witha whole in. I want to know if this is a good way and will the crystal grow inside the hole automaticly or do I have to do something to it?
