Cookshow is a free online community centered on the sharing of cooking related online videos submitted by users from across the globe. Once registered, "Chefs" can upload their own self-produced cooking shows in the form of full recipes or quick cooking tips.

The initial concept was to create an online community so those with a passion for food could not only have a place to show off their favorite recipes, but be able to connect with others by sharing recipes and joining groups with common interests. There are no restrictions -- we welcome everyone from professionals to the everyday amateur chef.

The site was initially launched in France in July 2007. We had come upon the Cookshow concept after struggling to create a dish from a written recipe. We realized that online video could make the process much easier by replacing the written recipe with a live demonstration of how to make the dish. Plus, we see the online video format as a way to enable people to move beyond the traditional recipe book and create a digital archive.
