looks like you got your problem figured out.
but incase you still need help heres what i do:
Open up windows movie maker and drag the image and audio into the program and the rest (like subtitles etc) you can do inside of windows movie maker
export at "the best quality playback for this computer" and it should already be in the right file format to upload to youtube
