Stop harassing the ham radio operators and find something else to do with your time this is just outrageous.
I am sure that the city has better things to do with the tax payers money then to waste it fighting the FCC. Or you can pass your laws and if and when a something happens and it will i can see no ham radio operators comming to help the city of Palmdale, CA. Now that would be a shame but f the city wants to push i can see the ham radio commuinity pushing back. Or wait for the FCC to have a say and see how much it costs the city then. |

They are also forgetting about SATERN. The Salvation Army uses Ham Radio to get info across to the different Corps and Family Services in a disaster. IE the fires in the mountains around LA. This being a Federal problem what's a city government making like they are the FCC. Just to remind the City Elected Officials. HAM"S VOTES and their Families Vote and their Friends VOTES.

Also unintentionally, this law would hurt organizations like the Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Red Cross who either depend on hams or depend on volunteers putting up antennas at thier homes to support thier respective communications service.

Are you crazy? Ham radio is used by local, state, and federal agencies all over California and you want to take that tool away. I served this community in the northridge quake and I also worked very close with other ham operators while I was on active duty as the director of the Military Affiliated Radio System. These people are outstanding and they are the ones that showed me what ham radio was all about and helped me get my license. It's wrong to punish them. This looks very bad for the town as it is engaged in a lawsuit already over this and it seems like this might be a "get even for causing problems" tactic.

PRB-1 and standing federal legislation will prevail vs. attempts to suppress amateur radio activity or structures!

RADIO LAW: A BIG WIN IN PALMDALE CA
Some good news in the ham radio legal arena. This with word that the court decision in the long-running Alec Zubarau, WB6X, tower case is now final. This, after the City of Palmdale, California, allowed the appeal period to expire without challenging the ruling. Bruce Tennant, K6PZW, reports:
--
A judge hearing the case ordered the city to reinstate an improperly revoked building permit.
