anywho, Dir En Grey sings about the nitty and the gritty. they aren't about pretty things that happen in life, they sing about stuff people often times try not to look at or talk about. their music videos often reflect this. for example, 'the final' (from withering to death) is about (or attempting to) commit suicide after the loss of a loved one (i think). 'Saku' (also from withering to death) is about our being desensitized to things we see on tv and how it's making less and less human as we go on (or so i think.) 'Merciless cult' (lol all my examples seem to be from withering to death), in my own opinion, is about looking for love in the wrong places.

this has become way to long already... but, don't expect 'nice' pv's from this band, they're just as nasty as their lyrics... (i like em anyway but i'm messed up in the head)

about Dir En Grey

i don't know how much you know about japanese bands but i'll try to give as small of an explanation as possible

don't watch the music videos. the thing about DEG is that at one time, they were a visual kei (VK) band. that, however, has nothing to do with their music. Vk bands are about more than just the music, they're about using their body's as art. often times their costumes will reflect the type of music they are singing. (i'm sure wikipedia has a better explanation)
