This is the 4 story apartment building next door to me in West Los Angeles (corner of Purdue and Ohio). They started construction in December 07 and just finished up February 09. And yeah, it was noisy! :)

The Power of Now, Stillness Speaks, and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle completely changed my life. The idea that the present moment is all there is and how our ego/mind lives to distract us from it was a big revelation to me.

So much so that I ended up starting my own Eckhart Tolle meetup. We meet once a month at Starbucks, and then walk over to a beautiful park with streams and a duck pond in Santa Monica and hold our meetings there.
