Hashbrown is a musician from Chicago. He performs as an experimental one-man band. Is it folk? Soul? Indie rock? Spaced-out glitchiness? Hip-hop? Gospel? Maybe it's all of these and more. From 2007-2009 Hashbrown performed as a vocalist in 8-piece, acid jazz band, Vertikal (using the name "Ben Butter") and as bass guitarist in 4-piece, indie rock band, The Elements of Style. From 2005-2008 he also performed as an emcee and DJ/turntablist for the WBEZ Chicago Public Radio/Steppenwolf Theatre production "Blues/Hip-Hop Intersection."
