Through vigourous tapas one can attain enlightment, which is the path that Ram has taken, he is an example of true sadhana, with one pointed determination of reaching the absolute. When one reaches enlightment they are more useful in serving mankind, through vigourus tapas he is practicing to do so as soon as possible thereby allowing the rest of his life to be dedicated to serving and helping humanity. May all be blessed with the desire to realize the truth and merge in the divine, much love and light to everyone.

I find it really offensive that people are making such a big deal about whether Buddhaboy eats and drink or not. The Buddha taught the middle path. Suffering and exotic practices are not necessary to attain enlightenment, and why should we expect this young man to abide by such practices, especially in light of the dharma.
Further, let me add, that it is irrelevant whether Buddhaboy is a reincarnation of Buddha, what is relevant is that he is in possession of an enormous determination to achieve enlightenment and is so advanced in his path that merely watching videos of him is enormously righting for ordinary sentient beings, to the extent that many people are able to shed multitudes of negative layers just by hearing this young man's voice and witnessing his determination. Enough said. |

Everyone is freaking out and saying that he is the reincarnation of Buddha, though he himself specifically said that he isn't. He's just a guy, like you and me, doing what all of us have the potential to do. The smallest amount of research will show that many, many seekers have demonstrated amazing feats that go beyond logical reasoning. But to him, the fact that he barely eats and drinks is a mute point. What has he gained spiritually? THAT is the question. After he's become enlightened, it's likely he'll devote all of his time attempting to bring others to enlightenment, or at least to a higher level of conciousness. For the true mark of a master is his ability and desire to bring others to mastery. And any speculations to who and what he is is irrelevant. He is a part of god, as we all are. And I'm sure all that matters to him is bringing us back to oneness.

Certainly a spectacular finding. This boy is very skilled at meditation. I don't know why he would try to go without food and water. He barely seemed to hold on during the footage in one of your videos where Discovery Channel filmed the Buddha Boy for 96 hours. I sense that his brother is the only one that is claiming that buddha boy hasn't eaten for 3 years.

Buddha has had his part played ant it's over. We don't need another Buddha. Buddha has showed the "Middle Path" and yet only very few follow this. The rest are interested in occult powers, worshiping Buddha's images, etc. No personal progress can be achieved through that. Self transformation leads to world transformation. No matter how many so called "Buddhas" come we will never change and the world can never be a better place. Siddharta Gautama sat under the body tree and the holy spirit of Buddha entered him. It wont happen again. This guy is definitely not Buddha but he is he. I marvel at his great powers but that's my act of appreciation. Each religious founder comes down from the land of Nirvana to establish a religion. This guy is not establishing any religion.

He might be trying to achieve that stage and becoming a new Buddha, but I don't believe he's the reborn of Buddha Shakyamuni.

This could be one of the phenomena of the current times that require public's attention to spirituality. It is wise for all concern to show respect to this boy and his family. It is also proper for authorities to care for his health and security. Every child no matter how gifted must be cared for, nourished and be given proper education. Its not so much about how long can one fast. Its about our current humanity that needs peace with one another in this challenging economic times and war.

even if his feats are valid, and he went without food or fluid,in effect malnourishing himself, how does this logically link him to being "the" buddha? that simply doesnt make sense? people want to believe it because a story of a man was wrote long ago who did similar things, but there is no logical way to have those two unrelated facts make sense because of one another.
