A quick and easy tutorial for creating an anamorphic lens flare for Adobe After Effects.

The audio drifts slightly out of sync as it moves on; sorry about that, it was hard enough to get my software to even get the video right. You should be able to get the gist of it well enough.

Looking-Glass Boter46 - 23 views - 5 months ago
I made this for Machinima.com's "Through the Mirror's Edge" contest. They stated submission date as February 12th, but fine print said 11:59 PM on the 11th - clearly not the 12th. I finished it according to their rules anyway and, looking at what *did* make it to the finals, I think I'm glad that I didn't submit. They don't seem to cater to people who enjoy good films ?:| Anyhow, here's my film, "Looking-Glass", filmed wntirely within the game "Mirror's Edge" by DICE Studios, published by EA.

Train Memory Boter46 - 112 views - 6 months ago
Back in, oh, 1993, my grandfather gave me this model train set. For years it circled the top of the basement as I added occasional extra cars. When we moved, it was packed up and almost forgotten. Not long after that, my grandfather died.

In 2006, I considered using the trains as something for my new hobby, filming. I broke out the trains, remembering. I filmed them with no real direction, but eventually decided to make a music video of them.

Music: "Late Goodbye", Poets of the Fall

*Note: Night shots in the original video aren't as dark (you can actually see the train cars, not just the lights); go to http://www.press-enter.net/sma llerprojects.htm to download the original file.

Musical Tesla Coil Singing Mario Under Ground and Others megavoltm... - 27,406 views - 1 year ago
This clip is from the 2007 Duckon Sci Fi convention in Naperville IL, USA. The show consisted of 2 Tesla coils making lightning for patrons to enjoy. The musical Tesla Coil turned out to be a big hit.
The coil in this clip is a solid state musical Tesla coil constructed by Steve Ward. The Tesla coil stands 7 feet tall and is capable of putting out over 12 foot of spark. The sound pressure level is well over 110dB. The coil is powered by 240 volts and can draw over 40 amps. The coil resonates at a frequency in the 45 KHz range, and is modulated by a microprocessor sending out trigger pulses over a fiber optic link. The fiber optics are used to provide electrical isolation for the control electronics. The high voltage sparks are making the notes that you hear. Every note of the music is a burst of sparks at the note's frequency.
Here is a video of the coil from a different angle from a earlier run of the coil.

messin with a guitar sound (will be on my next CD) ronaldjen... - 4,767,458 views - 1 year ago
my music store: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/m usic-store

**this tune will be on my next CD - I came up with this jam recently so I don't have it available yet. thanks for all the emails and interest in it! can't wait til it's done (hopefully in December).

just havin some fun with a guitar sound (Hard Ramp AS1&2) on the Motif XS8. Some have asked about the "low notes" that come out when I hit those two keys up top - those are guitar effects built in the patch and for whatever reason, Yamaha put those effects on the high keys.

I made the background beat using FL Studio. I start the beat by hitting the space-bar on my computer keyboard before I play on the synth.

PS. I've read some reviews of this vid as if I'm trying to be a "keytar" player (apparently not a desirable thing, but how can you not like Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein") and that I should just play a real guitar. LOL @ some of those same people who probably play guitar hero (nothing against it but hopefully you see my point)! The irony! The point is, folks, if you find a fun/inspiring sound to jam with, by all means, you should JAM WITH IT! I don't care if you find a $3.00 plastic trumpet. Don't worry about the technicalities and what people say. In the long run it's about the fun that YOU have making music.

Thanks for watching!!!

"stay crunchy" - messin with an e-piano sound ronaldjen... - 2,585,990 views - 1 year ago

buy my first CD: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/m usic-store

**second CD due in December

This is another one in the very early stages, but it's fun to jam with. I messed with it quite a bit before I filmed, but each time it came out drastically different. LOL

I used FL Studio 8 and my Motif XS8 to make this one. The sound I'm using is actually an e-piano (patch is called "Drive EP AS1" on the Motif XS series. I adjusted the distortion and delay to make it sound like it is.

Thanks again for watching and being a subscriber to my vids!!

my first CD: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/m usic-store

**Second CD is taking a bit longer than I expected (but a few downloads will come first)

SUPER FUN TIME WITH THIS JAM!!!! Thanks a lot for watching! Hope you liked it. Kindof a rough cut, but it's always fun.

This video is dedicated to the band Papa Roach for letting me check out their studio and giving me a place to stay in LA. Those are some hard-working rockers and good guys. I got cold chills listening to the songs they're working on for their new album. I think it's coming out really soon.

My friend Sam gave me the hat I'm wearing in this vid. It's made of 100% recycled material. Can't beat that. Here's their site: http://www.livity.org

I'm using FL Studio software to make the beat in the background and a Korg Triton Le keyboard on top, Motif XS8 on bottom.
