If anything comes into existence at all at conception it is just concepts, words and labels.

Conception results in a set of instructions; a genetic framework present inside a cell, nothing more - this is no more life than a plan for a building is the building.

The belief that life begins at conception is laughable at best; it is so similar to the idea of Christian 'creation', drop your labels of 'life' and notice that it is almost the same as the deluded Christian idea that something can be created of nothing. If you're an atheist you will see the hypocrisy and fatuity in the 'pro-life' position. Or at least that is what I hope. Thanks.

i'm pro life inasmuch as from a philosophical standpoint we can only make arbitrary decisions about when life begins unless we break it down to what we can observe. now my terminology may be inaccurate but try to follow. i believe that once the sperm has penetrated the egg there is still no person. i believe though that as soon as the egg has divided and begome a zygote(?) it has DEMONSTRATED (the proof of action) it has willed itself to live. the gestalt of that combination has shown a directional intent and pursuit of life. the divinity (nothing to do with any god) of its own chosen destiny.

my basis for being pro-life is that once an egg is fertilized, he or she has all the necessary materials they need to become a full-grown human.
