Established in 1985, the Blades is the first openly gay and lesbian ice hockey team in the United States. We currently have novice and intermediate teams. We participate in the Gay Games, the Coors Cup tournament in Denver, we host the PlayLA tournament in Los Angeles, and we play yearly after the Kings Game at the Staples Center.
