MALUKU, native country of Moluccan people excists of islands like Ambon, Buru, Haruku, Saparua, Ceram, Nusalaut, Halmahera, Banda, Kai Islands, Aru, Tanimbar and other islands, MALUKU lies east of Indonesia, between Indonesia and New-Guinea, the capital of Maluku is AMBON. Our parents from the first generation came around 1950 to the Netherlands, about 12.500 men (KNIL soldiers) with women and children, and now there are about 60.000 Moluccans living in the Netherlands. Though Maluku is part of Indonesia, Moluccan people are more related traditionally and culturely with the people from the Pacific Islands, like Melanesia, Polynesia, Micronesia, Papua New-Guinea and other Pacific Islands as you watch the videos.
