About Me:

Ben Lewis is an award-winning director with a reputation for making funny films about serious subjects, as large-scale international co-productions. In documentaries as diverse as ' 'Nicolae Ceaucescu: The King of Communism', 'Baader Meinhof: In Love with Terror', 'R.U.E.U? -- A Trip around the European Union' and his long-running series on contemporary art, 'Art Safari', Ben uses humour to make analytical and intelligent yet highly accessible documentaries for audiences all over the world. He speaks four European languages and works invariably with a team of producers, editors and cameramen from all corners of Europe. His style combines quirky autobiographical journey and objective historical documentary; his multi-textured films embraces the full spectrum of recording media -- from crisp digibeta to low rez VHS and mpeg movies. In 2001 Ben won the Grierson award for best historical documentary for 'The King of Communism'. In 2005 "Blowing Up Paradise; french nuclear testing in the Pacific" won the environmental film award at the Grenoble nature and environment film festival.

Hi Ben I seen Hammer and Tickle on the beeb about a month ago, absolutely loved it and your approach to it (the dramatized recreations of the joke telling with suitably crappy video quality etc) Would love to get it on DVD if available in Ireland or online?

Thanks

Andy

Your "comment" concerning the German RAF on the BBC site is very childish.

Is there anyway i can buy/download the complete art safari series? Its a much nicer alternative than trying to actually read relational aesthetics or to listen to my lectures stab blindly at its contents.
