PEPCON rocket fuel plant disaster. The plant manufactured an oxidizer called Ammonium Perchlorate. Ammonium Perchlorate is not in itself a fuel but a key component. It will however explode if heated to a high temperature in a confined space. Henderson, Nevada May 4, 1988
