Hi Jojeny. Thanks for dropping by. Most of these lessons have had the embellishments taken down to the bare mininum. This is to allow a wide range of beginners progress at a steadier pace. Which video number was the throw on d missing from again?

Hi chaoser
The simplest way to decipher the music is break it down note by note. I teach my beginner pupils to understand the note values from Semi breve down to demi semi quaver first. I then explain that embellishments - grips, throws, doublings etc are made of grace notes. This then paints the picture to the student that grips are made up of very quick intermitent notes that take up very little time in a bar of music. I then break build the embellishments up with a series of finger exercises. Does this make sense? You can let me know. I hope it helps. Happy Piping! Bagpipe Teacher |
